  1. This topic is important to me because:
I took this as a great opportunity, to make a collage to remind my friends how strong and courageousness women can be, no matter what the challenge might be, to keep on fighting for the respect they deserve. I think all of us woman can find our inner strength and courage to fight for our rights, be strong and set goals to create a better life, there are always challenges in life. We meet accomplishments and be proud of our selves even though no one else is.
    Elements for this collage:
    1. I found, what is believed her own signature even though she could not read nor write, on several Google links.
    2. Joan of arc has been a popular figure in Movies and music. I used this image of a movie star playing Joan of Arc. Just to show that courageousness comes in different packages. (Found at Google)
    3. Old Paper Scroll image to set the mood to middle ages, and have a solid back ground for the text. (found at www.fanpop.com)
    4. Image of a white wild horse, the wild horse image represents the strength Joan of Arc had (Found at Google)
    5. The Helmet, a reminder that woman in the middle ages where not considered as strong and fearless, as man “knights” in that time of age.

    The Graphic Message:
If a young woman nineteen years old, in the middle ages can fight for what she beliefs is right, why can’t we in modern time.
Joan of Arc was born on January 6Th around the year 1412 to Jacques d’Arc and wife Isabelle in the little village of Domremy, within the Barrois region (now part of “Lorraine”) on the border of eastern France. The events in France during these years would set the stage for Joan’s later life and the circumstances surrounding her death.
A peasant girl born in eastern France, she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years' War, claiming divine guidance, and was indirectly responsible for the coronation of Charles VII. She did what she could to make a change. Her recognition for heroism came much later, but she was a example for many woman. It is not just a story, as some people believe it to be. Several of the 15Th century sources that have survived concerning the life and military campaigns of Joan of Arc, include the transcript of her trial in 1455-1456, as well as many letters, chronicles, and thousands of military records. These provide us with vivid eyewitness accounts from the people who know her; and minuscule details such as the amount of oats bought for her horses and the names of many of the rank-and-file soldiers in her army. Her life is therefore reasonably well documented. (joan-of-arc.org)

The first time I learned about her:
I was raised in Europe, and always had a passion for Art.
Some painters could capture the facial expressions in people and animals so well, you almost feel a part of the painting setting when staring at it, and so did one of Joan of Arc. I traveled to France numerous times, and I love the old cobble stone little streets and enormous castles, I could almost feel the knights on their horses surrounding me. These old places in Europe have so much history, you can feel, smell, and see the energy of generations that lived there. My two favorite woman are Joan of Arc and Anne Frank, and topic’s that were covered in my middle school history class.
